KUCHING, 25 February 2026: We had the pleasure of attending The Food Journal’s Gembiria Balik Kampung Media Night yesterday evening, which took place at the Old Court House in Kuching.
The Food Journal, known as the group behind Keeper’s Ground and Tables & Tales Food Hall in The Spring Shopping Mall, as well as Commons, Roots and The Den at the Old Court House, is bringing back their annual Gembiria Balik Kampung Buffet, this time with even more dishes! Along with other media personnel, KOLs and content creators, we had the pleasure of previewing the buffet selections during last night's Media Night.
With over 35 delectable dishes including comforting local favourites, live stations and classics made for sharing, the Gembiria Balik Kampung Buffet promises a vibrant evening of authentic local and traditional flavours – perfect for gatherings with family, friends and colleagues. The Gembiria Balik Kampung Buffet will take place from February 25 to March 18, 2026, with a menu change halfway through the month to keep it interesting!
Crowd favourites like the Paella Station, Asado Barbeque Station, Ice Kacang Station and Shawarma Station are back this year, as well as the Noodle Station, where you have can indulge in freshly prepared noodles of your choice in either Sarawak Laksa, Tomyum or Chicken soup! Guests can also expect returning crowd favourites like Butter Prawns and Salted Prawns, along with new additions like Gulai Ikan Lemak Nanas added into the mix. With over 35 flavour-packed dishes on the spread, from rich mains to vibrant sides and sweet local kuih, every table promises a satisfying feast from start to finish!



Besides the food preview, we were also treated to captivating performances from The Band Lab and Dolce Chanticleer Kids Choir, as well as a fashion show featuring RaYacutha “Muda-Mudi” 2026 Collection.
