AirBorneo partners with IBM Malaysia and Salihin Digital to deliver AI-powered operations

KUCHING, 23 February 2026: AirBorneo has forged a partnership with IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Salihin Digital to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-driven systems that will automate flight bookings, optimise operations and provide real-time updates for travellers, which aims to deliver a seamless travel experience for all, from check-in to landing.

According to IBM Malaysia in a statement released earlier today, AirBorneo has adopted an integrated digital architecture that supports seamless operations, data-driven decision-making and enhanced customer experiences, as part of its long-term strategy to establish a modern, efficient and scalable airline. AirBorneo will be implementing IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration and IBM Cloud Pak for Integration to automate and connect critical business processes, applications and data flows across its operational ecosystem, enabling real-time visibility, secure data exchange and greater operational agility across airline systems.

“The airline will be harnessing the power of AI capabilities from intelligent customer engagement to optimised flight operations. As we gear up for our jet operations in July 2026, our vision is to deliver a seamless travel experience and strengthen regional connectivity to Sabah and Sarawak, pioneering innovations that redefine the nation’s aviation landscape,” added AirBorneo Chief Executive Officer, Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin in the statement.

According to IBM Malaysia Country General Manager and Technology Leader, Dickson Woo, building a world-class airline takes more than aircraft and infrastructure; it requires an intelligent digital foundation that anticipates passengers’ needs, streamlines operations and empowers its people. “The IBM-AirBorneo collaboration underscores our shared commitment to placing AI at the core of AirBorneo’s transformation, shaping the future of aviation through innovation and intelligence.”

Meanwhile, Salihin Digital will be providing expert guidance on the integration of AI systems with AirBorneo’s existing infrastructure, ensuring that the airline will be able to fast-track its digital transformation and quickly adapt to the fast-evolving aviation landscape. “This partnership represents the fusion of technology and aviation know-how, and will be setting the stage for new standards in the industry,” said Salihin Digital’s Director of Sustainability and Modern Governance Solutions, Mohd Sheeril Azri.
