Borderland Music Festival 2026 draws over 16,000
KUCHING, 12 September 2026: The 4th edition of Borderland Music Festival kicked off on Friday at the grounds of Sarawak Cultural Village, drawing in a total of 16,000 people over the two-day festival, including Deputy Minister of Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Datuk Snowdan Lawan.
Friday’s event was a vibrant celebration of electronic music with elements of hip-hop, showcasing a diverse lineup of local and international acts including Fizz (Malaysia), Mago (Malaysia), Chukiess & Whackboi (Malaysia), Boriz(Malaysia), Veena (Taiwan), DNA ft MC Parkz (Indonesia), RAMENGVRL ft Indahkus, Dia and Kenz (Indonesia), Blasterjaxx (The Netherlands), Ben Nicky (United Kingdom) and Arcando (The Netherlands).
In addition to the carefully curated lineup, this year’s Borderland Music Festival also features interactive workshops and engaging activities, highlighting the cultural heritage of Borneo while creating a platform for local talents to shine.
“The Borderland Music Festival could definitely become a major tourism event for Sarawak, as we can see from the strong turnout, eventually establishing itself alongside other iconic events like the Rainforest World Music Festival. With how the festival grows year by year, it could follow in the footsteps of international events like Tomorrowland in Belgium,” said Datuk Snowdan yesterday evening.
When asked about the ongoing haze that has swept over Sarawak, he noted that the weather did not appear to affect the event. “The Air Pollution Index (API) in the Damai area remains relatively low, and the organisers decided to proceed with the festival following strong support from ticket holders and the public.”
The second and final night of the Borderland Music Festival concluded tonight with more acts, including Yibi, Lele, Mia Q, Rad Kid, Sadon, Scidz, Pandamax, Hades, Ezra Hazard, Tiger Burder & Friends, Jovynn, Juelz and the festival headliner, KSHMR, who brought the house down during the closing set, effectively concluding this year’s edition of Borderland Music Festival.
