KUCHING, 4 February 2026: The HER2026 Programme took place yesterday at the Borneo Cultures Museum in Kuching, bringing together over 20 women from various ages, backgrounds and ethnicity for a day of leadership training, practical workshops and content creation.
Organised by BorneoTalk as part of the Women’s Leadership Apprentice (PERANTIS) programme in collaboration with the Stirring Up Borneo (SUB), Borneo Cultures Museum, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Malaysia and Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM) Young Souls, participants of HER2026 had the chance to work together with other like-minded women and accomplished facilitators and speakers on the first session of the three-month leadership course.

True to BorneoTalk's DNA, HER2026 is designed to be modern, contemporary, fun, highly interactive, and people centric. The programme keeps participants highly engaged through sharing sessions, hands-on activities, tutorials and practicals that make the experience exciting and engaging. Rather than sitting through hours of talks, participants learn and interact through objects that inspire creative and critical thinking and meaningful interactions.
The immersive workshop, focused on leadership, creativity and digital influence, was broken up into five modules, which explores the foundation of leadership, finding, owning and using leadership voice, public leadership and creative expression in the digital age by learning the basics of CapCut and Canva. From practical leadership strategies and building leadership presence to learning the art of leadership storytelling and expressing ideas creatively through digital media, participants of HER2026 got to work alongside other women and swap stories that spark new thinking as well as practice newly-learnt skills in real time.

Throughout the day, participants were encouraged to take photos and short videos to document their HER journey through their own lens, as part of their very first assignment. For their second assignment, they were given the freedom to explore exhibitions within the Borneo Cultures Museum and connect their own life journey to an object or exhibit they resonated with.
In total, participants will complete a total of six assignments throughout the three-month journey, and take part in an online check-in session in Month 2 aimed at sharing progress, reflecting on experiences as well as refine ideas while practicing independently.
Meanwhile, the HER2026 programme will culminate in the HER2026 Graduation and Showcase in April, 2026, where participants would gather once more to celebrate and reflect on their growth and journey, as well as graduate as a HER alumna.
