KUCHING, 14 August 2026: Congratulations to Sarawak Tourism Board for officially being the first in Malaysia to win the coveted Cannes Corporate Media and TV Award for the short film ‘Gateway to a Sarawak Guinness World Record’, which chronicles the record-breaking multi-drone relay across Sarawak!
The short film chronicles the journey behind the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cumulative Distance by a Remote-Controlled Multirotor/Drone Relay, covering 1,706.7KM across Sarawak over 6 days using GPS-tracked drones to trace an unbroken aerial path from Tanjung Datu to Lawas. The cinematic showcase, which featured Sarawak’s stunning landscapes, cultures and communities from a bird’s eye perspective, premiered at the Kuching Waterfront during the Countdown to 2026 New Year’s Eve celebrations.
ISC International, the Kuala-Lumpur-based specialist brand agency that produced the film, will be receiving the Black Dolphin award at the awards ceremony in Cannes, France later this year. This recognition marks a double first for both STB and ISC International, with STB being the first Malaysian entity to receive a Cannes Corporate Media and TV Award in any category, and ISC International being the first agency to secure the award on behalf of a Malaysian client.

The Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards has been honouring the world’s finest corporate films, on-line media and TV documentaries for 17 years now, and is an international competition that welcomes entries from film producers, agencies, clients, broadcasters and students alike. Each September in Cannes, the coveted Dolphin Trophies in Gold, Silver, Black, Blue and White are awarded for the industry’s most outstanding achievements.
