SIFMA 2025: What to expect

KUCHING, 6 November 2025 - The Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts (SIFMA) returns for its sixth edition this 6–7 December, bringing two days of exciting performances, creative exchange and cultural celebration to the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here.

Since its debut in 2019, SIFMA has become a signature event in Sarawak’s cultural calendar, transforming Kuching into a global stage where tradition meets innovation, and local heritage finds harmony with international artistry.

This year’s programme promises a dynamic mix of music, dance, theatre and visual arts. From Sarawak’s ethnic melodies to contemporary compositions and cross-cultural collaborations, audiences can expect a world-class showcase of talent, while interactive workshops and masterclasses offer rare opportunities to learn directly from the performers.

Apart from the much-awaited stage performances, SIFMA also offers a space for connection, learning and community. The Fringe series attract children and families through outreach activities and themed events. The “Evening of Ethnic Cultures” brings together fashion, dance and music in a celebration of identity and tradition. Visual art installations and design showcases turn the venue into a living gallery of creativity.

The highly anticipated opening and closing galas present festivalgoers with the opportunity to meet artistes, network with industry professionals, and celebrate the spirit of collaboration that defines SIFMA.
