SEDC Permata strengthens community bonds through Bubur Lambuk initiative
SEDC Permata’s Bubur Lambuk Distribution initiative reflects the spirit of togetherness, compassion and volunteerism that defines the holy month.

KUCHING, 6 March 2026: As part of its Ramadan initiatives, SEDC Permata Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), organised its Annual Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme to strengthen community ties, promote compassion and reinforce its ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The programme, held at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Kuching, brought together management and staff in a coordinated effort to prepare and distribute 400 packs of traditional bubur lambuk to the public, employees and residents within the vicinity. Beyond food distribution, the initiative reinforced the organisation’s commitment to inclusive community engagement during the holy month. The initiative reflected the spirit of togetherness, compassion and volunteerism that defines the Ramadan season.

The programme was officiated by the General Manager of SEDC, Hajah Rakayah binti Hamdan, whose presence underscored the organisation’s strong leadership support for community-based initiatives across its subsidiaries. 


“Ramadan serves as an important reminder for corporate institutions to balance business growth with social responsibility. Initiatives such as this will not only strengthen SEDC’s engagement with the community, but also nurture solidarity, teamwork and a collective sense of responsibility among employees,” said Hajah Rakayah in her speech. “SEDC remains committed to ensuring that its development efforts translate into meaningful contributions to the wider community.”


Through consistent and purposeful community initiatives, SEDC Permata continues to uphold responsible corporate citizenship, ensuring that its growth journey contributes positively to the social fabric and wellbeing of the people of Sarawak.
