KUCHING, 9 April 2026: The Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) hosted their SEDC Open House 2026 yesterday at the Riverside Majestic Hotel in Kuching, showcasing the nostalgia of a classic era in a vibrant Aidilfitri celebration under the theme ‘Serambi Syawal’.
Officiated by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Junaidi, who represented the Premier of Sarawak, the day-long festivities were also attended by SEDC staff members, investee companies, strategic partners, government agencies and private sector representatives.
A key platform for strengthening bonds, fostering unity and enhancing collaboration among stakeholders, the event also showcased SEDC’s subsidiaries through the live food stations and performances.
“At SEDC, success is not measured through numbers or assets, but its impact on Sarawakians. Whether its talent development, job opportunities, entrepreneurship or corporate social responsibilities, our goal is clear – to ensure a balanced, inclusive and sustainable growth for Sarawak,” shared SEDC Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato’ Haji Husain, who also highlighted the corporation’s journey since 1972 – from basic industry and property development to strategic sectors such as renewable energy and tourism. He also expressed his deep appreciation for the unwavering support from ministries, government agencies, private sector partners and strategic collaborators.

SEDC remains committed to driving the state’s development in line with the Sarawak Maju Makmur vision and the Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030, ensuring inclusive, sustainable growth that benefits the people of Sarawak. SEDC hopes that this event will continue to strengthen bonds, cultivate a spirit of togetherness, and serve as an ongoing platform to nurture gratitude and harmony among its staff and stakeholders.
