SBC, KITKOJI launch limited-edition premium essential oils

KUCHING, SARAWAK, 19 November 2025 – The Sarawak Biodiversity Council (SBC), in collaboration with Singapore’s KITKOJI Pte. Ltd. (KITKOJI), this morning unveiled Trove Borneo, a premium collection of nine pure essential oils derived from plants native to Sarawak. The launch, held at Sheraton Kuching this morning, was marked by a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) exchange ceremony between the two organisations.
Performing the MoA exchange were Sarawak Biodiversity Centre’s CEO, Dato Dr Yeo Tiong Chia and KITKOJI’s CEO, Ken Koh. The ceremony was witnessed by Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) and Chairman of the Sarawak Biodiversity Council, Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah bin Haji Zaidel. Sarawak Biodiversity Council members and CEO of BioVerde Technologies Sdn Bhd (BVT), Ts. Hazwan bin Razak were also present.

During the launch, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah emphasised that Trove Borneo embodies Sarawak’s long-term vision for sustainable and inclusive development. He said that the initiative connects Sarawak’s natural heritage with global aspirations for wellness, ethical sourcing, and community-driven development. He added that the brand reflects Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, particularly its focus on innovation, economic resilience, social equity, and environmental stewardship.
The debut release of Trove Borneo will be limited to 500 sets, each priced at RM788 and available exclusively at www.TroveBorneo.com. Each set features nine 100% pure essential oils:

AdenoSara® (Adenosma ne/sonioides)
Serai makan (Cymbopogon citratus)
Kunyit (Curcuma longa)
Murus tabu (Lindera lucida)
Calamansi (Citrus microcarpa)
Kemuyang merah (Homalomena ardua)
Halia Dayak (Zingiber officinale)
LitSara® leaf (Litsea cubeba)
The oils are sustainably cultivated and distilled by 13 indigenous communities, including the Lun Bawang of Long Telingan and Long Kerebangan (Lawas), and Long Rusu (Ba’ Kelalan); the Kelabit of Pa’ Lungan and Pa’ Ukat (Bario); the Bidayuh of Kampung Kiding and Kampung Parang (Padawan), Kampung Semadang (Penrissen), and Kampung Jagoi (Bau); the Iban of Rumah Simon (Lubok Antu); the Melanau of Kampung Paloh (Belawai); the Kenyah of Uma Kelep (Belaga); and the Kayan of Long Bedian (Baram).

Dr. Yeo said the Trove Borneo brand reflects years of Traditional Knowledge Documentation, close collaboration with indigenous communities across Sarawak, and dedicated research. Ken described the collection as a unique wellness gift.
“Trove Borneo is a well-being treasure trove that means W.E.L.L – Wisdom of Indigenous communities, Eternity of 130-million-year-old Borneo Rainforest, Legacy of our ground-breaking partnership and Longevity for our gift recipients,” Ken said.
The partnership between SBC and KITKOJI aims to position Sarawak at the forefront of the region’s growing natural wellness industry, combining SBC’s scientific expertise with KITKOJI’s pioneering work in natural wellness across the gut, skin, and cell microbiome.
