Kuching Heritage Lights & Floral Festival 2025 launched
The 2025 Kuching Heritage Lights & Floral Festival is happening at the Kuching Waterfront until October 8 from 10am to 10pm.
KUCHING, 6 October 2025: The annual Kuching Heritage Lights & Floral Festival 2025 was officiated yesterday evening by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg at the Kuching Waterfront.

The festival, which is taking place until October 8, 2025, brings together unique displays of light, floral arrangements, landscaping and sculptures, showcasing the creativity and talent of local nurseries, landscapers and artisans. The beautiful display not only creates a unique experience for visitors, thus elevating Kuching as a world-class tourist destination. Besides the plants and flowers on display, you can also shop for lush plants, fruit trees and beautiful orchids at the exhibition booths!

The highlight of last night's opening was the triple lighting ceremony, which launched iconic lighting systems at three main locations, namely the Kuching North City Commission Headquarters building at Bukit Siol, the Kuching Waterfront as well as the traditional boats (e-Penambang). Adding to the festive atmosphere was a fireworks show that lit up the area surrounding the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building. 


Also in attendance at yesterday's ceremony, the Premier’s daughter, Dayang Norjihan, Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Welfare Development, Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah and Mayor of Kuching North City Commission, Dato Haji Hilmy bin Haji Othman.

The new lighting system is set to breathe new life into Kuching’s well-established landmarks, bringing a more colourful ambiance to the city’s nighttime panorama while reflecting its beauty, creativity and unique identity. The decorative lighting was also extended to different parts of Kuching city centre, including the Jalan and Jambatan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub, Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub Pedestrian Bridge, the area surrounding the Heroes’ Monument, Padang Merdeka, Old Courthouse, Satok Pedestrian Bridge, Satok Bridge, Amphitheatre as well as the area surrounding the Sarawak State Library.


Open to the public, the Kuching Heritage Lights & Floral Festival 2025 is happening until October 8, 2025 at the Kuching Waterfront from 10am to 10pm.
