ITB Asia expands regional presence with ITB Asia Select Indonesia

SINGAPORE, 22 October 2026: Messe Berlin Asia Pacific, organiser of ITB Asia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday afternoon with the Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) yesterday afternoon at ITB Asia 2026 in Singapore.
Through the MoU signing, ITB is expanding its regional presence with a new trade show platform, ITB Asia Select Indonesia, in partnership with ASITA, and is set to take place on June 23 and 24, 2027 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Building on ITB Asia’s international network and ASITA’s local market expertise, the initiative aims to connect Indonesian travel buyers with international exhibitors and unlock new business opportunities across Asia.
Following the rebranding of Travel Meet Asia Jakarta, the agreement marks a further step in strengthening the partnership and advancing the development of ITB Asia Select Indonesia. ITB Asia Select marks the next step in Messe Berlin Asia Pacific’s long-term commitment to Asia’s travel industry. As an extension of the ITB Asia brand, the new platform will bring focused B2B travel trade shows to selected high-potential markets across Asia, creating opportunities for international tourism businesses to connect with local and regional partners and access new growth markets.
Indonesia will be the first market in this expansion, reflecting the country’s potential as a source market for international travel. Through ITB Asia Select Indonesia, international exhibitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with Indonesian travel buyers and build valuable business relationships.
“ITB Asia Select represents the next step in how we engage with key travel markets across Asia. Different Asian markets have different opportunities and needs, and strong local partners are essential. By combining the international reach and industry network of ITB with local expertise, we can create focused events that respond to the needs of individual markets while connecting them into the wider ITB Asia ecosystem. Singapore will remain our flagship regional marketplace, with ITB Asia Select providing additional touchpoints for the industry across Asia,” said Messe Berlin Asia Pacific Executive Director for Travel & Environment, Darren Seah.

“In 2016, ASITA was invited to collaborate with Messe Berlin Asia Pacific through Travel Meet Asia Jakarta. Over the years, this relationship has continued to open doors for collaboration, business development and international engagement. Building on this long-standing partnership, we are now looking forward to the next chapter of our collaboration through ITB Asia Select Indonesia 2027,” said Secretary General DPP ASITA, Budijanto Ardiansjah.

ITB Asia Select is designed to create more focused B2B trade shows in strategically important travel markets, connecting international tourism suppliers with high-quality local and regional buyers. Through strong local partnerships, Messe Berlin Asia Pacific can develop trade shows tailored to individual markets while leveraging the international recognition, reach and expertise of the ITB brand. The approach recognizes that Asian travel markets have different characteristics, opportunities and business needs, while creating additional opportunities for exhibitors and buyers within the wider ITB Asia ecosystem.
ITB Asia Select Indonesia will be the first event launched under the new platform, following the rebranding of Travel Meet Asia Jakarta. Travel Meet Asia 2026 was developed in partnership with ASITA, combining Messe Berlin Asia Pacific’s international network and event expertise with ASITA’s strong local travel industry network. The new ITB Asia Select identity strengthens the event’s international positioning and enables it to benefit directly from the recognition and network of the ITB brand, while continuing to focus on connecting the Indonesian travel market with international destinations, tourism suppliers and business partners.
Under the partnership, Messe Berlin Asia Pacific contributes its international sales, marketing, global industry network and international buyer development capabilities, while ASITA contributes its strong Indonesian industry network, local market expertise and engagement with Indonesian travel companies and stakeholders. Together, the partners will strengthen opportunities for the Indonesian travel industry to connect with international markets and become part of the wider ITB Asia ecosystem.
