Hainan designated as Official Partner Province for ITB China 2027

SHANGHAI, 26 May 2026: The Hainan Province, upon the successful co-hosting of a dedicated networking and promotion session at ITB China 2026, is set to become the Official Partner Province for ITB China 2027.

This was made official earlier today during a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between General-Director of the Department of Tourism Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, Chen Tiejun and Managing Director of Messe Berlin (China), David Axiotis.

According to Chen, through ITB China, Hainan’s expanding visa-free travel policies and innovative tourism formats can be showcased to international buyers, adding that the province recorded a 53.1% year-over-year increase in inbound visitors in the first quarter.

By highlighting new integrated sectors like marine tourism, AI-powered travel services, medical & wellness tourism and sports/RV travel along Hainan's ring road, as well as visa-free access policies for nearly 60 countries, Hainan is set to transform from its status as China’s only tropical island into a globally influential tourism and consumption hub.
