KUCHING, 9 January 2026 – tHe Spring Kuching and Bintulu shopping malls wrapped up their Christmas campaign, “Imagine The Magic”, with an outpouring of community support towards their cause. The initiative, which benefited the Dyslexia Association of Sarawak (DAS), brought together shoppers, businesses, and families across Sarawak in a powerful display of kindness and inclusion.
The centrepiece of the campaign was “Build A Library”, a community-driven project based on a straightforward idea that every child should have access to books and the chance to learn without barriers.
Shoppers at tHe Spring Kuching and tHe Spring Bintulu were invited to donate both pre-loved and new books. An interactive donation box allowed contributors to leave a personal mark along with their gift, through which they shared what mattered most to them. Each donated book carried messages of care and understanding.
The response was remarkable. The community donated over 960 books, with additional contributions from tHe Spring itself, Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, and MPH Bookstores.

The spirit of giving continued through a collaboration with SUB by BorneoTalk and its “Bag Your Story” collection, a series of locally handwoven bags created with care and intention by single mothers and sole breadwinners from the community. Each piece reflected SUB's belief in subtle design, thoughtful craftsmanship, and meaning beneath the surface, while embracing more sustainable approaches through responsible materials and mindful production. Proceeds from the collection raised an additional RM2,000 for DAS, and contributed directly to the organisation's ongoing programmes and outreach efforts.

All these contributions from everyone involved in this initiative were presented to DAS at a simple ceremony that took place at the Learning & Resource Centre, Dyslexia Association of Sarawak at Jalan Maxwell this morning.
tHe Spring expressed deep gratitude to everyone who made “Imagine The Magic” a success—from CSR partners and tenants to individual shoppers and the broader Sarawak community. Together, they transformed the holiday season into a movement of compassion and understanding that will make a real difference in children's lives.
Throughout the campaign, DAS served as both an awareness and beneficiary partner, helping educate the community about dyslexia, the importance of early intervention, and the support systems available to families.
Parents and caregivers looking for guidance or information are welcome to connect with DAS for resources that can help children with dyslexia learn, grow, and reach their full potential. The organisation can be reached at +6082-242900 or through their Facebook page, Dyslexia Association of Sarawak.
