OSAKA, JAPAN, 4 August 2025: EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is a global event that brings together nations, organisations, and changemakers to showcase ideas and cultures that are shaping the future of humanity, and BorneoTalk is glad to be on board as accredited media at the expo, which runs from Apr 13 to Oct 13, 2025.
Under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” EXPO 2025 is a living canvas of innovation, tradition, and imagination. Come explore the Expo grounds and experience what makes this event truly unforgettable.
Venture through a wide range of country pavilions, each designed to reflect the nation’s vision for the future. Our favourites include China and Japan that offer immersive experiences into their future society, blending robotics, tradition, and sustainability.

France invites visitors into a poetic and emotionally resonant experience, themed “A Hymn to Love,” with very impressive Louis Vuitton and Dior rooms, among many other experiences.

Qatar and UAE highlighted their achievements in renewable energy and smart city planning; Portugal brought forward its maritime heritage and digital transformation, while the USA presents a look at space exploration, AI, as well as inclusive innovation. The Nordic Pavilion, a joint effort by Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, is a serene space that champions circular economies, nature-based solutions, and minimalist design thinking.
One of the most unique experiences is the SUMO EXPO Pavilion. Visitors could learn about the history and rituals of sumo, try on traditional attire, watch live demonstrations, and even explore how sumo is gaining interest internationally. Yesterday’s highlight included international SUMO expo featuring Senegal Mongolia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine as well as special appearance by Japanese SUMO Ozeki “Konishiki”.

We also visited the Malaysia Pavilion of our home country, which this week is hosting Sarawak Week. The pavilion itself blends modern architecture and tropical inspiration. Sarawak Week will feature cultural performances, and culinary delights, including the iconic Sarawak Laksa, pepper-infused dishes, and other local favourites.

To end the day, we gathered at the Grand Ring, the architectural heart of the Expo site from which we were treated to a fireworks display that lit up Yumeshima Island before calling it a day.
There’s definitely so much more to experience at EXPO 2025 Osaka. Go to https://www.expo2025.or.jp/en/ to see the full breadth of offerings at the EXPO.
