In this article, we’re taking a look at the Central Region of Sarawak, which consists of Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu.
There are 13 tour packages on offer, including four NEW ones.
Murum Discovery Tour (4D3N) – NEW
Discover Murum and explore the Tegulang Kenyah longhouse before heading to Murum Dam to visit the Penan Long Wat-Danum floating house, Danum Jetty, Ulu Sungai Beruang for some fishing along the way!

Bakun Get-Away (3D2N)
Relax and enjoy the Great Bakun Lake view. Enjoy fishing, swimming and dip yourself in the stream. Proceed to Waterfalls for a picnic. Have fun in waterfall or practise kayaking.

Bintangor & Sarikei Countryside (Day Trip)
Your journey onwards will stop fruit stall by the countryside where you can tantalize your taste buds to a barrage of tropical flavors from Sweet or Sour Tangerines to Pineapples and other local fruits. Continue by land to Ulu Sarikei Countryside. View the hilly scenery on the way with some peppers vineyards, rubber trees, rice paddy even longhouses just by the roadside. Enjoy some splashing moment at the simple yet naturally beautiful water steam.

Bintulu Explorer (2D1N)
Bintulu was a small fishing village when Rajah James Brooke acquired it in 1861. Brooke later built a fort there in 1862. In 1867, the first General Council meeting (now Sarawak State Legislative Assembly) was convened in Bintulu. It is the earliest state legislature system in Malaysia. Visit the nearby native market, the riverbank, Tanjung Kidurong, Taman Tumbina and Tanjung Batu Beach!

Central Coastal’s Villages Exploration: Bruit/ Daro/ Matu (2D1N)
Bruit, Daro & Matu located North West of Sibu and lies within the Rajang Delta. Melanau making up the majority and due to its locality currently require 2 ferries transfer to the destinations from Sibu. The 2D1N brings you to explore the local Melanaus’ living style and their cottage industries.

Fishing Village Experience (2D1N)
Spend some time at Gerigat Fishing Village as well as the town of Kabong before proceeding to the Gula Apong processing site and spending an evening at Kabong Beach.

Fuzhou Heritage Trail (Half Day)
Sibu was founded by James Brooke in 1862 when he built a fort in the town and a small group of Chinese Hokkien traders settled around the fort to carry out business activities. In 1901, Wong Nai Siong led a large scale migration Foochow Chinese people from Fujian, China into Sibu looking for new life and settlement. Foochow Chinese slowly become the major group in Sibu and surrounding Rajang Basin. The trail leads you to understand the stories about settlement and 120 years of development in Sibu and Rajang Basin.

Mukau: The Melanau Heartland (3D2N)
The Melanau’s rich heritage, being amongst the earliest people to settle in Sarawak, is a delight to uncover. Your adventure begins in Sibu on a speedboat ride to Dalat, an outpost that will see you passing by longhouses and Malay villages as you snaked through the Igan River via several villages and small town until Mukah. Your adventure also includes a river taxi ride along a scenic river, hands-on experience in preparing traditional foods such as sago, fish salad and others. The processing of sago is especially interesting. Witness how the raw materials in the form of a sago palm trunk is transformed into flour and how it’s oven baked over a wood fire into finished products such as sago pellets and tebaloi (sago biscuits).

The Mighty Rajang River & Longhouse (Day Trip)
Unknown to many visitors and even locals, some longhouse experience can be captured just an hour’s ride from Sibu. The Bawang Assan longhouse along the Mighty Rajang River, the village boasts of eight different longhouses all within walking distance of each other. Once there, your host family welcomes you to their simple but lovely traditional home. You may try your hands on weaving rattan mats, even fishnets. From shooting with blowpipes to fishing by the river, your hands will be most definitely be as busy as your day is filled with activities. Cook up an Iban culinary storm in the kitchen. Let your foster Iban family spin you tales from ancient times and what each symbol mean to the elderly mystics.

Upper Rajang Discovery (2D1N)
Visit Kanowit, Song and Kapit home to fierce Iban warriors. These towns still house the Forts built during the days of the Rajahs, employed to calm and pacify the fiery tempers of the Ibans.
