‘I would like to express my appreciation to Tourism Malaysia Sarawak for organizing a Media Familiarisation Trip to the state of Perak, exploring different tourism attractions in Ipoh, Batu Gajah and Kuala Kangsar. We have worked together regularly, and we hope to maintain and elevate this mutually beneficial relationship especially during Visit Malaysia 2026,” said Zuraida during yesterday evening’s event.

“In terms of tourism content, Ipoh, Perak is very different from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Malacca or Johor. We have very good products, packages and history, but due to our geography, Ipoh is often seen as a pit stop for travellers heading up to Penang and down to Kuala Lumpur. In 2024 during the Visit Perak Year, Tourism Perak’s campaign themed ‘Promising Perak’ did an amazing job marketing tourism products that cater to intercity tourists,” shared Chairman of Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Perak Chapter, Tony Wong.

“This year, with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, we’re maintaining competitive hotel rates and working more closely with tour agencies doing business all over Asia. In addition to Tourism Perak doing a lot of B2B sessions, we’re hopeful that their efforts will bring in a new kind of market into Perak,” he concluded.
