KUCHING, 28 March 2026: The inaugural Tiny Fest Borneo 2026 officially kicked off today at Kuching’s Tropics City, bringing families together through offline activities, real human connection and meaningful, screen-free play between 10am to 7pm on March 28 and 29, 2026.

Launched by the Mayor of Kuching South, Dato Wee Hong Seng, earlier this morning, Tiny Fest is packed with family-friendly fun, from bouncy castles and glow stick parties to hands-on arts and crafts and baby raves, as well as the Mega Cardboard Maze, face painting and screening of popular Sarawakian-made animation and folklore project.

“Beyond its social value, Tiny Fest Borneo also tells a story about the growing maturity and confidence of Sarawak’s creative industry. The talent, energy, and professionalism behind this festival — from its performers and artists to its programme designers and volunteer crew — is a testament to what our local creative community is capable of when given the space and support to flourish,” shared the mayor during today’s launching ceremony.

Parent-DJs, DJ Keeyushee, DJ Arabyrd and DJ Ari, will be spinning feel-good beats that get both tiny feet and grown-ups moving. Families can also enjoy a variety of food and beverage outlets, as well as a special orchestral arrangement by The Band Lab to add an extra layer of magic to the weekend.

The event also introduces Tiny Talks – a curated panel series designed for parents navigating modern parenting challenges. The series will address key concerns such as children’s behaviour, emotional development and excessive screen time in today’s digital landscape, with speakers from KPJ and Sarawak General Hospital.

“I’d like to give a special thank you to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak and to the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), for supporting us early on. And I’m really proud to share that MBKS, through their family initiative roadmap from 2026 to 2028, has expressed support to include Tiny Fest as part of that vision. And for us, that means a lot. Because we’re not just here for today, we’re hoping to grow Tiny Fest into something that happens every year - something families in Kuching can look forward to, to come together, spend time and just be present with each other,” added Tiny Fest Festival Director, Kiyoshi Aihara.

Also present at the launching was Regal International Group Executive Director, Nicholas Wong.
