LIMBANG, 13 April 2026: The Sarawakku Sayang 2026 programme officially kicked off over the weekend in Limbang, with the launching by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg held at the Limbang Sports Complex on April 11, 2026.

Coordinated by the Sarawak State Government through the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU), the Sarawakku Sayang programme aims to strengthen the relationship between the people and the government through a grassroots approach, a reflection of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that no Sarawakian is left behind in the development agenda.

“Sarawak’s strengths lie not only in the resources it possesses, but in the unity of the people and our ability to move forward with a clear vision. The state government will continue to lay emphasis on a balanced and sustainable development, by empowering rural areas, narrowing the development gap between regions and ensuring that no community is left out of the flow of progress,” said Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg during his launching speech.

Set to take place across 12 divisions across Sarawak until November 2026, the programme is aimed at delivering various government services directly to the people, providing a one-stop-centre that brings together government agencies, government-linked companies (GLCs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the private sector. Services offered include health screenings, educational assistance, entrepreneurial opportunities, welfare services and digital services such as utility bill payments, summonses and land premiums.

“Sarawakku Sayang represents a proactive approach by the government to connect with the public, while enhancing the delivery of information and services. It also provides an avenue for the public to obtain information and services directly from government agencies in a more approachable and engaging setting,” said Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki. “The people can now come forward and access services face-to-face, through a ‘human touch’ approach.”

Each programme consists of a number of major components, including the official ceremony, the Sarawak Pavilion main exhibition, service counters, entrepreneur sales booth, community activities, the Sarawak Kitchen, a community concert, cultural night, lucky draws and various competitions. Subsequent stops include Miri later in April, Bintulu in May, Mukah and Sibu in June, Kapit in July, Sarikei in August, Betong and Sri Aman in September, Serian and Samarahan in October and lastly, Kuching in November.
