Sarawak Agrofest 2026 Targets 800,000 Visitors in Bintulu
BINTULU, 28 September 2026: Sarawak’s largest agriculture expo, Sarawak Agrofest 2026 (SAF2026), is underway at the Old Bintulu Airport from Sept 25 to Oct 4, bringing together the state’s agriculture, food and agritech sectors under the theme “Innovating Agriculture for Food Security.”
The sixth edition of the expo focuses on transforming Sarawak’s agri-food sector through smart technology, automation, digitalisation and stronger sustainable food supply chains. Bintulu was selected as the host city for the third time, with its central location making the event accessible to visitors from across Sarawak. The official opening ceremony was held on Sept 28 and officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
SAF2026 is targeting 800,000 visitors over its 10-day programme and aims to generate up to RM6.5 million in sales value. With 201 participants taking part, the expo features a wide range of showcases including AgroTrade, AgroFresh, AgroTech, AgroInput, Sarawak Kitchen, Peladang e-Shop, as well as dedicated areas for paddy, fisheries, pineapple, commodities, sago and nipah, livestock and smart agriculture.
More than an agriculture sales platform, SAF2026 is positioned as a platform to showcase the shift from conventional farming towards high-tech agriculture, in line with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. The expo also aims to provide greater opportunities for local agropreneurs to expand their businesses and reach wider markets.
The programme includes the Sarawak Agrofest Run, Agro Hack in collaboration with Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), JobSarawak activities, as well as concerts and performances. Several awards will also recognise outstanding agropreneurs, young agropreneurs, food crop entrepreneurs, livestock farmers and other agricultural communities across Sarawak.
SAF2026 also features Memorandums of Understanding involving organisations including Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Sarawak, Koperasi Agro Lambir Berhad, Green World Genetics Sdn Bhd, and the Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board with Ning Planters Sdn Bhd.
Organised with support from various government agencies and strategic partners, SAF2026 aims to strengthen collaboration across Sarawak’s agriculture ecosystem while promoting innovation and sustainable food production as the state works towards greater food security.
