KUCHING, 26 August 2025 - In a meaningful gesture of care and compassion, RJ Group of Companies has donated six brand-new filtered drinking water dispensers to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), in support of an ongoing initiative by BorneoTalk’s social enterprise, Stirring Up Borneo (SUB), to make clean, filtered drinking water more accessible to patients, caregivers, and hospital staff.
The handover ceremony took place this afternoon at SGH, where RJ Group’s Director, Ryonna Chuo personally presented the dispensers to SGH Director, Dr. Ngian Hie Ung, witnessed by BorneoTalk’s Editor-in-Chief, Ivy Pan, who has been instrumental in driving the initiative forward.
Launched in April 2025, the initiative by SUB aims to install 38 water dispensers across SGH’s wards, in an effort to ease the financial and physical burden of sourcing clean drinking water from shops of vending machines. This offers convenience for patients and their families as well as caregivers and hospital staff.

RJ Group is proud to contribute to a cause that brings real comfort to those who need it most, and this is one such instance.
With more dispensers still needed to fully equip SGH’s wards, BorneoTalk and SUB continue to call on corporate sponsors, community groups, and individuals to join the cause. This initiative reflects SUB’s core mission to EMPOWER, UPLIFT, and GIVE BACK to the community.
