KUCHING, 2 May 2026: The 7th edition of Nuansa Seni returns, and was held yesterday evening at The Waterfront Hotel in Kuching under the theme ‘Golden Threads of Borneo – From Ancestral Hands to Global Eyes’, highlighting the timeless beauty and craftsmanship of traditions such as songket, keringkam, hand painted batik, embroidery and contemporary.
Aimed at elevating heritage arts and products of the Sarawak Malay community from cultural legacy to a sustainable, globally relevant industry, Nuansa Seni 2026 is more than a showcase, and sets itself apart by being a strategic platform that brings together artisans, designers, industry players, policymakers and the wider community to strengthen the ecosystem of heritage arts.
“Through curated programmes, masterclasses, exhibitions, and collaborations, the initiative aims to preserve authenticity while enabling growth, market access, and long-term sustainability for local practitioners. Nuansa Seni also provides them with a stage to showcase their artwork which leads to awareness and commercialisation,” shared Nuansa Seni Founder and Programme Director, Dr. Sharifah Suzana Hj. Wan Shukran, better known as Dr. Anna Sue.
