KUCHING, 22 July 2026: – Launched on Sarawak Day, the much-anticipated Kuching Food Festival 2026 has once again transformed the city into a paradise for food lovers, drawing thousands of visitors from the very first afternoon.

By 4.00pm, the festival grounds were already packed with families, friends, and tourists eager to explore the hundreds of food stalls offering everything from beloved local favourites to exciting new creations.

One of the biggest talking points on opening day was the Musang King Cheese Naan, which sold an impressive 200 pieces in less than two hours. The unique combination quickly became one of the festival's most sought-after items, with long queues forming shortly after the gates opened.

Returning favourite Nuto Nuto, which first made waves during the 2025 festival, is back with an even more eye-catching concept this year. Their beautifully designed stall has become one of the most photographed at the festival, attracting curious visitors eager to see what made the brand such a hit last year.

Another standout is Sampan House, whose freshly baked egg tarts have been winning over visitors one bite at a time. With their light, flaky pastry and creamy filling, many festival-goers are already comparing them with some of the country's most well-known egg tart brands.

For those craving something savoury, the Chicken Cheese offering has also emerged as a crowd favourite, earning praise for its generous flavours and satisfying combination.

Among the festival's most creative concepts this year is a stall simply named NASI. Instead of offering complete meals, the vendor focuses solely on serving rice, allowing visitors to pair it with dishes purchased from neighbouring stalls. The simple yet clever idea has sparked conversations among festival-goers and demonstrates the creativity that continues to define the Kuching Food Festival.

Dessert lovers certainly won't be disappointed either. One noticeable trend throughout this year's festival is the growing popularity of mochi-inspired desserts. From Mocha Ball and Mochi Fried Dough to a variety of creative mochi-filled treats, the festival is filled with sweet options that have quickly become favourites among visitors.
