Ibraco unveils NorthBank Business Exchange

KUCHING, 14 September 2026: Ibraco today officially unveiled NorthBank Business Exchange (NBX) and NBX Residence I, marking one of the most significant milestones in the continued evolution of The Northbank in Kuching, into a more complete, connected and future-ready urban destination.
Graced by the Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian and Mayor of Kuching South, Dato Wee Hong Seng, the launch represents the biggest new chapter for the township since its earlier commercial and residential developments, bringing to life years of thoughtful master planning and a vision designed with future generations in mind.
Envisioned as a “city within a city”, NBX brings together business, residences, retail, healthcare, mobility, leisure and community spaces within one integrated environment, and is a representation of Ibraco’s continued evolution from individual properties to a holistic urban ecosystem, where different elements work together to enhance how people live, work, invest and connect.
With planned connectivity to SM07 NorthBank Ibraco ART Station as well as Regency Specialist Hospital Kuching via a dedicated SkyLink bridge, thoughtful planning that incorporates mobility-friendly design and spaces designed to encourage wellness and sustainability, NBX is set to support the broader aspiration of positioning Sarawak as a high-income region, by creating modern environments that support business, investment, quality living and community development.
At the heart of NBX is NBX Residence 1, the first residential component within the precinct, which offers a total of 268 units across 2 towers, offering a wide range of layouts from 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom and dual key units to dedicated mobility-friendly units. Its range of facilities include a gym, swimming pool, reading area, KTV room, board and games room, playground and landscaped spaces, all thoughtfully designed to support movement, relaxation, connection and everyday living.
Complementing the residences is NBX’s neighbourhood mall, which is designed to introduce a new generation of community retail to the rapidly growing Kuching-Kota Samarahan corridor. Envisioned to feature a cinema, neighbourhood supermarket, indoor adventure park, enrichment centre, assorted F&B offerings as well as a modern hypermarket, the mall combines everyday essentials with food, leisure, wellness, technology and community experiences.
“With special features like the elderly-friendly unit, our elder residents will be able to live on their own terms, with convenient access to groceries, entertainment and healthcare services directly connected via the SkyLink bridge and pedestrian walkways,” said Group Managing Director of Ibraco, Datuk Chew Chiaw Han during the launching today.

“Over a period of 15 years, the Kuching-Samarahan Corridor has seen tremendous growth, thanks to companies like Ibraco. Thanks to its strategic location and convenient access to hospitals and higher-education institutions as well as future developments like the Sarawak Cancer Centre and Regency Specialist Hospital Kuching, the area is set to become part of Sarawak’s health metropolis,” added Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim in his official address.
Today’s launching also saw performances from The Band Lab as well as a walkabout session by distinguished guests to the two fully-furnished show units of NBX Residence 1 - a Typical Unit and a Mobility-Friendly Unit.
Ibraco will be holding the NBX Launch Showcase at tHe Spring Shopping Mall in Kuching from September 18 to 20, 2026, giving prospective purchasers and the public the chance to have a closer look at Kuching’s latest development. Members of the public can also check out the show units at Ibraco Gallery @ The Northbank.
