Expo 2025: National Days, Osaka Week and more

OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN, 9 May 2025 – With 159 days remaining, Expo 2025 continues to welcome the world’s nations to the shores of Osaka. The week of May 6-13 looks packed with a host of events. Among them are National Days and Special Days, with plenty of activities in store. On May 7, visitors enjoyed JORDAN’S NATIONAL DAY, where its traditions and heritage took centre stage. May 8 saw the INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS AND RED CRESCENT MOVEMENT showcasing its humanitarian efforts and international cooperation. Today, EUROPE DAY brought lively performances, art, and music from across the European Union. On May 10, the celebration continues with GUINEA-BISSAU’S NATIONAL DAY, followed by BANGLADESH on May 11, CHILE on May 12, and REPUBLIC OF KOREA on May 13.

For those drawn to culinary discoveries, the EKIBEN CULTURE DAY today provided a look into Japan’s beloved train station lunchboxes. Visitors learned about the history of Ekiben and sampled exclusive offerings crafted by renowned Japanese companies.


Also happening starting today is OSAKA WEEK – SPRING, which features exciting performances by local artists, including a special musical showcase featuring well-known singers. Throughout the week, visitors can experience traditional festivals, watch danjiri floats and taiko drum performances, and enjoy Osaka’s local music.


On 10 May, the ELECTRIC POWER PAVILION will host PAVILION DAY, an outdoor showcase of energy innovations under the theme Eggs of Possibilities. Meanwhile, the METEORITE EXHIBITION at Future Life Village continues through July 2025. This exciting exhibition visitors the rare opportunity to touch meteorites, including specimens from the moon and Mars, and even try hammering them to experience their unique tones.
