Cakra Khan ready to thrill fans at Kuching Music Festival 2026

KUCHING, 16 May 2026 - Indonesian singing sensation Cakra Khan arrived in Kuching this morning at the VVIP terminal of Kuching International Airport here ahead of his highly anticipated performance at the Kuching Music Festival (KMF) 2026 tomorrow night.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference following his arrival, Cakra expressed his thanks on being invited to Kuching yet again to perform here. Despite his vast experience on stage, he revealed that pre-show nerves remain present.
“No matter where I perform, there will always be a degree of nervousness, even until now. This is my third time performing in Kuching, but it is my first time on the KMF stage, so naturally, that feeling is still very much there. That said, I intend to give my fans the very best performance I possibly can,” he said.
Fans can look forward to a specially crafted repertoire, with the singer hinting at some surprises.
“My team and I have spent a great deal of time curating the right repertoire for this stage, and I think my fans will appreciate that what we have put together. ‘Kekasih Bayangan’ will certainly be in the list, and I am also very excited to share the stage with some of Kuching’s own talented artistes for a some special collaborations. On top of that, I will be performing some songs from my new album. But of course, you will have to be there to find out,” he said, with a smile.
Cakra also thanked those who have been supporting him throughout his career.
“Everything that I am today, I owe to the people who have believed in me, followed my journey, and made my music a part of their lives. To my fans, my sincerest and deepest appreciation. Tomorrow night is for you,” he said.
Cakra Khan is among the headline acts of KMF 2026, now in its third edition, which is taking place at Padang Merdeka from May 16 to 17. He is joined by a strong lineup of artistes, including the legendary band OAG, Mal Imran, Firdaus Materang, Chieng Ng, Carrie Geres, Ramles Walter, and Melissa Francis.
New to this year’s edition is a glamping experience around the Padang Merdeka grounds, which offers festival-goers, particularly youth, families, and tourists, a more relaxed and immersive way to enjoy the two-day event.
The festival is expected to draw thousands of visitors from throughout Sarawak and beyond, thus generating a significant economic boost for local businesses across the food and beverage, creative retail, transportation, accommodation, and tourism sectors.
