Betong SKS 2026 draws nearly 97,000 visitors
BETONG, 28 September 2026: Nearly 97,000 people attended the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 programme in Betong over its three-day run from September 25 to 27.
Held at the Betong Sports Complex, it was the seventh of 12 divisions to host SKS 2026 and was officially opened by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg on September 26.
The programme brought together 48 government agencies offering 158 services, providing members of the public with direct access to government services, information and advisory assistance.
Among the services available were information on the Sarawak Basic Needs Contribution Initiative (SKAS) 2026, including eligibility, application procedures and aid disbursement through SPay Global.
Students and parents also had the opportunity to obtain information on the Sarawak Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES), including participating institutions, fields of study and eligibility requirements.
JobSarawak provided information on job vacancies, job matching and career development, while health-related services included health and fitness checks, health exhibitions, influenza vaccinations for senior citizens, and mobile dental screenings.
The event also featured various recreational and family-oriented activities, including ‘Betong Berekot’, ‘Ngohet Sikai’, traditional sports and children's activities. A Cultural Night and People’s Concert were among the other highlights held throughout the three-day programme.
The lucky draw was another major attraction, with the grand prize of a Perodua Bezza 1.3X won by Naziah Anuar from Kuching.
The SKS 2026 programme will next head to Mukah Division this weekend, before continuing to the Southern Zone, beginning in Sri Aman Division.
The programme aims to strengthen engagement between the Sarawak Government and the people by bringing government agencies and services directly to communities across the State.
