BESarawak appoints new key leaders

KUCHING, 4 July 2025 – Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) is pleased to share some important leadership changes starting this month. Two team members have been promoted, while one new face has joined the team.
Jason Tan Chin Foo is now the Deputy Chief Executive Officer. He was previously the General Manager of Business Development and Marketing. Jason, who joined BESarawak in 2012, has helped grow Sarawak’s international presence through projects that support the region’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
Anedia Kahar, who has been with BESarawak since it began in 2006, is now the General Manager of Business Development and Services. She was formerly the Deputy General Manager of Business Development and Research. Anedia has been a key figure in introducing Sarawak’s Legacy Impact framework and improving how events are evaluated.
The organisation also welcomes Joachim Soon as the new General Manager of Capacity and Digitalisation. He will lead efforts to build talent and drive digital growth. Joachim brings strong experience in training, communications, and digital engagement to help strengthen Sarawak’s business events industry.
Commenting on the new appointments, BESarawak’s CEO, Amelia Roziman said: “As we near the final phase of our Legacy Impact Master Action Plan, restructuring is essential to keep pace with industry changes. Beyond developing leadership, we aim to bring in fresh perspectives to enhance the ecosystem and grow a stronger pool of experts.”
These leadership changes reflect BESarawak’s strong commitment to growth and its vision of making Sarawak a world leader in legacy-focused business events.
