BBQ Ramadan Buffet at English Tea House

KUCHING, 11 February 2026 - BorneoTalk had the pleasure of getting a sneak preview of English Tea House's BBQ Ramadan Buffet yesterday evening, and yes, this year’s offering is something more special than the previous iterations.

What sets this year’s buffet apart from the previous editions is the outdoor BBQ section. And when we say it's the star of the show, we mean it. In addition to the usual buffet steamtrays of Ramadan fare, this flame-grilled goodness filled the air with irresistible smoky aroma. There are four stations with freshly grilled chicken, seafood, satay, and even roast lamb leg, all with their delicious sauces and dips.

Meanwhile, there are four different menus served on rotation throughout the campaign period (Feb 20 to March 19), so there’s choices aplenty, for sure. Each menu brings its own highlights while keeping the BBQ stations as standard. Last night’s menu featured dishes like Ayam Masak Merah, Daging Masak Hitam, Kambing Masak Kurma, Sup Ayam Berempah, Tenggiri Masak Sambal, Sayur Kobis Goreng Kunyit and more! The quintessential Bubur Pedas, a Sarawak specialty, is a must try. There were also a variety of salads and starters, as well as desserts like Bubur Kacang Hijau, local kuih, and even “Potong” ice cream!

Enjoy these in the comfort of the English Tea House, which sits right by the Sarawak River with stunning views of the spruced-up Kuching Waterfront on the opposite bank. The ambience is warm and inviting without being stuffy, relaxed without being too casual. Perfect for families, corporate groups, or just catching up with friends over a nice meal. For the convenience of Muslim diners, they’ve even set up a dedicated surau right on site, so guests can perform Maghrib prayers conveniently without having to leave the venue.
