A feline fiesta at Kuching International Cat Festival 2025

KUCHING, 26 September 2025: The 2025 edition of the Kuching International Cat Festival (KICF 2025) is back on a grander scale with tons of exciting activities for all! Happening September 26 to 28, 2025 at the Kuching Waterfront, the festival is not only aimed at further promoting the ‘Cat City’ of Kuching, but also bring awareness to animal welfare.

Earlier today, the soft launching of KICF2025 was held at the festival’s entrance, and was graced by the Kuching North City Commission Mayor, Dato Haji Hilmy bin Haji Othman and the President of the World Cat Federation, Anneliese Hackmann, who also paid a visit to the festival venue and the nearby My Cat Expo.

One of the main highlights of this year’s KICF is the World Cat Show, which brings together over 246 cat breeds from all over the region, including Thailand, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. Festivalgoers can look forward to the Cat Parade, happening tomorrow evening on September 27, 2025 at 7pm, with a total of 76 cats and their owners taking to the streets for an evening of feline love and laughter. Also happening throughout the 3-day festival, the My Cat Expo, Cat Grooming Demonstration, Cat Dance Competition, Cat Fashion Show and Buskers Performance.

The festival is an initiative organised by the Kuching North City Council, aimed at uplifting Kuching as a unique travel destination in South East Asia, stimulate the local economy by bringing together local businesses and players in the pets and performing arts industry.
