59th National MATTA Fair Opens in Kuala Lumpur, Bringing Travel Deals and Global Destinations Under One Roof

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 SEPTEMBER 2026 – Travel enthusiasts looking for their next holiday can now explore a world of destinations, travel deals and experiences as the 59th National MATTA Fair officially opens at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

Running from Friday to Sunday, the three-day fair brings together a vast selection of travel and tourism offerings under one roof, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new destinations, compare holiday packages and plan their next getaway.

The opening of this year’s National MATTA Fair comes at an important time for Malaysia’s tourism industry, as the country continues to build momentum under Visit Malaysia 2026.

Malaysia welcomed 42.2 million international visitors in 2025, representing an 11.2% increase from the previous year. The positive trend has continued into 2026, with 21.2 million international arrivals recorded in the first half of the year.

Under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, Malaysia is targeting 47 million international tourist arrivals and RM147.1 billion in tourism receipts by the end of the year. As a Strategic Partner to Visit Malaysia 2026, MATTA continues to play a role in supporting this national tourism ambition by connecting travellers with destinations, tourism operators and travel opportunities.

A World of Travel Under One Roof

This edition of the National MATTA Fair spans 10 exhibition halls, bringing together one of the largest gatherings of licensed travel agencies, tourism boards, hotels and airlines in the country.

Visitors can explore offerings from 12 State Tourism Organisations (STOs) from across Malaysia, alongside 16 National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) from around the world.

Taking centre stage as this edition’s International Favourite Destination is Taiwan, giving visitors the chance to discover its diverse attractions, culture, food and travel experiences.

From domestic escapes to international adventures, the Fair provides travellers with a convenient platform to explore a broad range of holiday options in one location.

Adding to the excitement, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) returns as the Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor of the Fair.

MAG is showcasing its growing portfolio of travel and lifestyle offerings, further strengthening the connection between air travel and the wider holiday experience.

Meanwhile, RHB Bank, the Fair’s Official Bank Partner, is offering an expanded range of travel rewards and financing options, giving visitors more ways to plan and fund their next holiday.

Speaking at the opening, MATTA President Nigel Wong said the country’s positive tourism performance presents opportunities for the wider tourism industry.
