BorneoTalk cinches ‘Borneo’s Most Influential Tourism & Lifestyle Media Brand’ at 2nd Asian Tourism & Hospitality Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 May 2026: At the Asian Tourism & Hospitality Awards for 2025-26 Gala Night, held yesterday at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, BorneoTalk had won the award for Borneo’s Most Influential Tourism & Lifestyle Media Brand of the Year! The event, organised by TIN Media, celebrates an evening of excellence, meaningful connections as well as recognition for remarkable individuals and organisations that have shaped the future of tourism and hospitality across Asia and beyond.
A total of 60 awards were given out during the gala dinner, which celebrated every facet of hospitality and tourism, from MICE and hospitality leadership to state tourism boards and Islamic tourism. The winners were selected from nominees from across Asia, from over 100,000 public votes and 6 independent jury members from Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

“The ATH Awards was created to uphold one important purpose – recognizing and celebrating genuine excellence within Asia’s tourism and hospitality industry through a credible and transparent platform. This year, the awards received 250 nominations from multiple countries covering hotels, destinations, tourism boards, attractions, travel organisations, hospitality leaders, innovators, and service providers,” shared Vice President Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) National Board, Dato Khoo Boo Lim in his opening speech.

“Platforms like the ATH Awards matter, because acknowledgement inspires motivation and encourages our industry to grow with confidence, progress, and innovation at its core. This is how Malaysia and Asia will continue to champion as a world-class tourism destination,” said Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy in his speech. “Despite current geopolitical challenges faced by our industry, we shall remain focused on the long-term interest of the industry, and address challenges with a firm, coordinated and unified response.”

The evening also saw recognition of several other organisations from Sarawak, including Sarawak Tourism Board (Excellence in State Tourism Board Leadership), Goche Corporation (Leading Heritage Tourism Product) and Core System Technologies (Leading Hospitality Technology Solution Provider). Other notable wins include the Langkawi Development Authority for Outstanding Island Tourism Authority for Resilience & Impact, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy for the Tourism Transformation Leadership Award, the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur for Leading 5-Star City Hotel of the Year and Entopia for Leading Tourist Attraction for 2025.
Also present at yesterday's event, Chairman of the Sarawak Tourism Board, Dato Dennis Ngau, President of MAH, Datin Christina Toh, Chief Advisor of TIN Media, Datuk Seri Azman Ujang, Vice Chairman of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) – Malaysia Chapter, Mohamed Sallauddin Mohamed Shah and Co-Founder of TIN Media, Presanth Chandra.
