After the success of #RWMF2021virtual last weekend, Borneo Jazz Festival (BJF) will follow suit with the showcase of ‘Borneo Jazz Memories, A Virtual Journey’ from 25th-27th June 2021, 6:00-7:30pm (MYT).
The 3-day FREE festival will stream a combination of pre-recorded sessions and interviews with renowned jazz musicians from Sarawak and around the world, including past musical acts performed at BJF via its official website, TVS and Shopee Live.

This year, the Borneo Jazz Memories will feature homegrown festival stars like award-winning contemporary violinist Nisa Addina, ‘Prince of Borneo’ Pete Kallang, Clinton Jerome Chua, O-Ha Soul Band and Borneo Jazz Talent Search 2018 Ta’Dan.
On top of that, The Virtual Journey will also showcase exclusive interviews with Singapore’s ‘King of Swing’ and Asia’s Jazz Superstar Jeremy Monteiro; Dave Brewer of Dave and the Doodaddies; and John Hammond.

Sarawak Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor pointed out that online events is a fantastic way for artists to interact and engage with their fans.
“Covid-19 has shown us how important digital and social media has been for artists to reach out to their audiences and maintain their fan-following throughout the pandemic. After more than a year of watching the international entertainment industry, among others, innovate on how to reach out to their target groups, we look forward to seeing fans and new audiences embrace the Borneo Jazz Festival 2021 Virtual Journey,” she said.
She also mentioned that bringing the Virtual Journey into people’s home via its official channels, the festival could attract new audiences as well jazz aficionados locally and from around the world.
