BorneoTalk was in Singapore for Asia’s leading travel trade show, ITB Asia 2019, at the Marina Bay Conventions Centre, which was happening from October 16 to 18. The prestigious trade show opened on 16 October with a record-breaking number of exhibitors of more than 1,300 from all over the globe, and more than 1,250 buyers, all under one roof. This makes it yet another record-breaking event since it was first held.
Gracing the opening ceremony were guests of honour, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education, Republic of Singapore, Chee Hong Tat, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany, Michael Müller, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Messe Berlin GmbH, Dr Christian Göke and Chief Executive of Singapore Tourism Board, Keith Tan.
An event that encourages business and networking between industry players from the global travel sector. This year’s ITB brings something new to the table, incorporating the inaugural MICE Show Asia 2019 in keeping with the fast-growing demands of the MICE and corporate travel sectors. Other new additions include the Buyers Elite Partner Programme, a forum aimed at developing stronger trade ties with recommended buyers and to maximise business opportunities together. Furthermore, an announcement for the launching of Travel Tech Asia in 2020 was made, which will be part of Asia Pacific’s largest travel trade show dedicated to travel technology.
