Incentivised packages to ensure the continuity of Sarawak’s Business Events Industry

BESarawak just unveiled brand-new incentive packages for Sarawak-based business event planners and partners today at its Tribal Gathering event, which took place at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. 

Officially launching these Tribe Incentivised Packages was Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Sarawak, Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Speaking at the event, the Minister congratulated BESarawak for successfully securing 95 business events worth RM 208.8 million in total economic impact in 2020. 

He also stressed on the importance of unity and collaboration as the key factors for the industry to pull through. 

According to him, the Tribe Homegrown Incentivised Packages is one of the ways to help provide industry support and encourage more local planners to plan homegrown business events before the borders reopen.

“With a wide range of subsidised items, Tribe Homegrown Incentivised Package for Corporate Meetings & Corporate Incentives category, and Convention category shall encourage more planners to come forward, organised and hold events in Sarawak,” he said.

Also speaking at the event was BESarawak Acting Chief Executive Officer Amelia Roziman, who mentioned that homegrown events are to become the next focus to keep the industry moving. She also emphasied that the current incentivised packages for national and international planners are being revived to give better support for hybrid events, and to fit the current needs of business event planners.

Tribe Homegrown Incentivised Package for Sarawak-based associations and corporate organisations. 

The package branches into two categories: Tribe Homegrown (Convention Category) and Tribe Homegrown (Corporate Meetings & Corporate Incentives Category.

  1. An initiative to encourage corporate organisations and destination management companies, travel agents and incentive houses among other subsectors to organise and host such business events.

Tribe Collaborate Incentivised Package for BESarawak industry partners

An incentive for Sarawak-based industry partners to recover from COVID-19 aftereffects. The incentive helps support with advertising, marketing and promotional efforts.
