“Behind every great achievement is a dreamer of great dreams.” – Robert K. Greenleaf.
Everyone has dreams, and what’s great is that you can actually achieve those dreams, provided you have the will and perseverance to push through the windy road to achieve those dreams. Because dreams are personal ambitions of a person, they can take on many different forms:
Truth be told, we will be spending a good portion of our lives on our job, so might as well pick a career we enjoy and love. By ‘following your dreams and passion’, you will feel unstoppable and your spirit ignited to do your work.
You may want to take the conventional route of becoming a doctor, or you may choose to be eccentric and take up professional gaming or wildlife photography. At the end of the day it’s best to go with what your gut instinct tells you.
Meeting an ideal soulmate is what most people look forward to in life. In reality, meeting your ideal life partner can be so unlike what you see in Hollywood movies. It takes a lot of effort to be able to have the ideal man or woman to spend the rest of your life with. You must be prepared and learn to love yourself first above all. Embracing self-love increases the chance of meeting your soulmate sooner than you think because people who love and value themselves attract those of the same kind.
How would you describe your dream house? Is it located on a hilly, secluded terrain amidst an enchanting forest just like The Cullens’ residence from the movie Twilight? Or is it a ranch-style house with a secret room only you can access? Or perhaps it is fully equipped with a well-stocked gigantic fridge and a massive telescope in your attic.
No matter what your dream house is, it is possible to realise the home you’ve envisioned for years. All you need are good planning, diligence and patience.
For some of us, dream destinations might be a road trip on the lonely roads of Canada, with breath-taking views of ice-capped mountains. Some dream of hopping onto a hot air balloon and float over Cappadocia during sunrise. Some want to taste all the different street hawker food in Sarawak.
Now might not be the best time to travel internationally (unless you’re willing to go through all sorts of testing and various other procedures for COVID-19), but it is certainly the best time to save up and plan for your future travels!
Having money is great. It is a kind of leverage to all sorts of possibilities. Some dream to be financially independent by age 35. Some dream of having multiple income streams for a comfortable retirement. Having these financial dreams help clear way for you to be able to afford the time and ability to do what you want.
Regardless what your dreams are, it is equally important to be realistic on the different actions to realise them. The simplest way is to start planning your short-term, and long-term goals, and jot them down in your notebook.
As long as you keep walking, and are serious about ignoring the naysayers, your dreams might be just a step away. So don’t give up on your dreams, because like what Napoleon Hill once said: “What the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve!”
