Year 2018 has taught us many invaluable lessons and great experiences alongside some bad ones. As we enter Year 2019, let’s reflect on the year that was so we can gear up for a better year ahead.
1) Family matters
Align yourself with what is important in life – family. Give them a hug and tell them how much you love them. Never take family for granted.
2) Me time, this time
Take some time off from your busy schedule to relax and meditate. Learn to breathe and be in the moment.
3) You only live once
We are afraid to try new things when life gets too comfortable for us. Take that step of faith and be empowered by trying something you are not comfortable doing in the first place such as giving a speech in public, eating sago worms, or perhaps travel to an unfamiliar place.
4) Positive affirmation
Never doubt the powers of positive reinforcement. Words can bring a million different meanings but when said right can uplift someone’s spirit in a positive way. Start speaking positive words of affirmation and encouragement and make someone, and yourself, feel good.
5) Why so serious?
Life is extremely short for us to be focusing on petty issues that often pop up in our lives. We should never let the little squabbles be a hindrance in building a healthy relationship with everyone that we cross path with everyday.
6) Don’t be a clutter bug
Do you have items that are lying around the house that never get used? If the answer is yes, it’s time to get rid of the clutter. A house free from clutter is good so you will be able to focus your time and energy on things other than the mess you’ve accumulated over the years.
7) Lend a helping hand
Random acts of kindness big or small can go a long way in impacting the lives of others. Be the change this coming New Year and participate in causes that will benefit the community around you.
8) Find a new passion this New Year
Lastly, be receptive to new ideas and don’t keep yourself from discovering new possibilities. Now is the time, perhaps, for you to pick up new skills that will broaden your creativity and ignite the passion that you never thought you had before.
