The campaign was officially launched by Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Sarawak Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah today at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). According to him, this is Sarawak’s first interstate travel campaign, after almost two years hiatus since the pandemic.
Jom Ke Sarawak campaign is the culmination of people’s rising confidence to travel. This follows the positive response for the recently launched Sia Sitok Sarawak Accommodation campaign, with 721 rooms booked within the first week of the campaign; as well as the announcement of tourism reopening by SDMC.
He encourages all Malaysians, and non-Malaysians in West Malaysia, Labuan and Sabah to grab this golden opportunity to uncover more of Sarawak’s best kept-secrets, and immerse in Sarawak’s rich Culture, Adventure, Nature, Food and Festivals.
“It is a perfect end to after what could be described as a challenging year. Bah, Juh! Jom Ke Sarawak!” the Minister said, in observance that all tourists must adhere to the latest standard operating procedures (SOP)*.
“This campaign’s ‘Buy Now, Travel Later’ concept enables travellers to not only enjoy tour packages at affordable prices but also plan their travel to their convenience,” said Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) CEO Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor, who was present via Zoom today.

*All tourists must be fully vaccinated and must also produce a negative rt-PCR or rtk-Antigen test result within three days before arrival in Sarawak. Children below the age of 18 entering Sarawak with their fully vaccinated parents will be exempted from quarantine.
