All ready for #VisitMalaysia2020
BorneoTalk is proud to have been selected as a Travel Media Buddy for Tourism Malaysia’s #VisitMalaysia2020 campaign. On Dec 13, 2019, we boarded Malaysia Airlines from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur for the Tourism Malaysia’s Media Night grand celebration at The Glasshouse in Seputeh.
It was a grand soiree that feted 350 members of the media and tourism industry players comprising editors, journalists, content creators, travel agents, hoteliers and tourism product owners, to thank them for their continuous support in promoting Malaysia as an ideal tourism destination.
BorneoTalk was picked to represent Sarawak in promoting domestic tourism by Tourism Malaysia, giving us the chance to showcase Sarawak where there is always more to discover. Together with Malaysia Airlines on board the campaign it provides the convenience of getting from Sarawak to the rest of the country, and the rest of the country to Sarawak.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Director General Zulkifly Md Said, on behalf of Director General of Tourism Malaysia Datuk Musa Yusof, personally thanked the media fraternity from all Malaysian states, for their unfailing support especially in gearing towards #VisitMalaysia2020 campaign, which is just around the corner.
“By working together, we all reap the rewards from tourist arrivals and tourist expenditure, and along the way, reinforce Malaysia as a diverse, harmonious and beautiful tourist destination,” he said.
The first nine months of 2019 showed positive development in Malaysia’s tourism industry performance with a record of 20,109,203 international tourists and RM66.14 billion of tourism expenditure.

Present to grace the dinner, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik also expressed his hopes to work closely with everyone for the success of #VisitMalaysia2020 in welcoming 30 million tourists and RM100 billion tourism receipts.
Kicking off #VisitMalaysia2020 as a grand celebration, MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia will host a Malaysia Open House for Christmas and New Year simultaneously with the launch of #VisitMalaysia2020. Fellow Malaysians are all invited to liven up this mega countdown celebration at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur on Dec 31.
As a gesture to showcase warm Malaysian hospitality to visitors across the globe, senior officials from MOTAC, together with Tourism Malaysia, will welcome the arrival of tourists personally at various air, land and sea entry points around the country on Jan 1, 2020.

A country does not run on its own, the community plays a huge part in ensuring the success of #VisitMalaysia2020 campaign. Malaysia has so much nature, culture and talent that will surely touch your heart.
Malaysian magician Andrew Lee who was in Britain’s Got Talent, blew the guests away with his magic tricks during the media night.
